It seems like we've all been spending a lot of time traveling lately.

This week until May 31st Sadayoshi and Cosima are on a research trip to Germany, I was visiting Niseko a few days ago, and yesterday Tobias, Yuko, Sakiko and myself were in Sapporo for a round of meetings.

In Japan, as it many countries, it is customary to give a gift when an aquaintance opens a new shop or business. While this is usually a bouquet of flowers, for the recent opening of the Next, Inc.

Last night Chris Nelson, author of the upcoming book Cold Water Souls, and photographer Richie Hopson arrived here in Hokkaido.

I've always been surprised at how quickly the seasons change here in Hokkaido. It seems just a few weeks ago it was still snowing, then suddenly overnight it begins to get warm.

Starting a new company is hard work. Starting a new company for the first time, where half the team is in a foreign country, using their second language, is extremely hard work! Needless to say, the last year has been extremely busy for us here at konnichiwa-japan.
