Konnichiwa.

I'm Evan Burkosky. 30 years old.

Originally from the west coast of Canada near Vancouver, I've now been living in Japan for 7 years, and married to my wonderful Japanese wife for 6.

This company is the fulfillment of a dream. I was lucky to find in Sadayoshi Oka the perfect business partner and best friend as well.

Together we founded konnichiwa-japan with the motto: Life is Art.

Life is made up of many little moments. Moments we spend doing things we love, being with the people we love, doing work we love. To achieve a good balance of these, to create good moments, this is the art of living life.

At konnichiwa-japan our main customers are businesses - both in Japan and overseas, that are looking to connect with their customers.

We produce websites, graphic media, video and multi-media, events, etc. that help them do this. We bring people and cultures together, working with a growing network of artists, designers, programmers and developers from around the globe.

We are still a small startup, but we're proud of the work we do.

Each project we take on is a work of art to us, just like the lifestyle we're creating.

Konnichiwa!
Guten Tag!

My name is Cosima Doerge, 27 years old, living in Hokkaido and working for konnichiwa-japan since November 2008.

I am originally from the south-west of Germany, but studied for my bachelor of Japanese language, politics, economics and geography of Japan at the University of Duisburg.
After studying Buddhism and Intercultural Communication at Ryukoku University for one year as an exchange student, where I had the possibility to broaden my understanding of Japanese language, culture and society, I was very fortunate to be able to join the masters program at SOAS (University of London) in anthropology, Japanese film and language, where I graduated in 2008.
I feel that with the thorough knowledge of intercultural studies I have accumulated during my studies, I can contribute to the company's main vision of connecting cultures! Our vision is to represent Hokkaido's beauty, local specialties, superb images and wonderful people to the world. I absolutely believe in this mission and want to do anything wholesome to help realise our dream here at konnichiwa-japan.

Since a young age, I have been focusing my interests around music and art, so I am fortunate to be able to work in the position of creative director at konnichiwa-japan's head office in Date city, constantly trying to acheive maximum results in connecting arts and music with the business we are doing. At konnichiwa-japan I am responsible for internal communication, translation, graphic works and music production.
Each project at konnichiwa-japan is handled with the care given a work of art which we can be proud of when it reaches its final stage. I feel strongly that it is not only our personal aim, but also our responsibilty to create good quality work not only for our customers but for everybody involved in the bigger picture of our mission.
I express my gratitude to be able to work with this fabulous team, and that is why I believe that we will succeed in our vision for Hokkaido!

All my Love for konnichiwa-japan and Hokkaido!!!

Sometimes I really ask myself: How did it it happen that I joined this company in January 2009? Seen from Europe, Japan already is a very remote place not only by distance but also culturewise. Then again, for many Japanese people in Tokyo or elsewhere Hokkaido is quite far away. However I feel right now that this place here is very close to my idea of a place to develop myself personally and career wise. For me Hokkaido consists of great untouched nature, lots of interesting ideas, people and business opportunities (I also have to admit I grew up in a rural area and therefore just dont like metropolitan areas crammed with people). Distance should not really be a problem if you find a place you like. As one of this company's mottos is "Connecting Cultures" I'm sure I'm at the right place to use my skills to help making this idea true. I think also my experience which I have from studying in Germany and England will help me achieving this, but most important are the people who I met and made it possible that I am here now. So, thank you and yoroshiku onegaishimasu
